Elijah woke up giggling this morning :)
His Grandmere's comment is that he must really like Texas.

Breakfast
"Hi train. You look happy!" Oh, small child. You're so awesome.
I'm sitting at a wonderfully clear dining table. I need to empty the dishwasher and reboot the laundry and spend a few minutes decluttering the bedroom... then I will sit, and I will braid yarn. Actually, first, I'll most likely talk to the remodeling guy who's going to show up. But after that! I will braid yarn.
Ummm. Hi.
This is not a particularly useful post.
But hi.
There's a little boy dancing at the table. He's amazing :)

"Hi Mama, nice to meet you. I'm Elijah!"
"Elijah close the eyes!"
And he can count!! He can count! I'm so excited. He counted my fingers, and my lips. It was so awesome!
"Mama making eggs for Elijah!"
"Elijah try'n eat eggs."
My joints are so very swollen this morning, and there was no purring kitten to soften my morning (he was out in the living room). But there was a very happy little boy who wanted to play peekaboo and talk about trains and counting and lips and eyes and fingers :)
The house feels lighter after its surgery. I want to take the opportunity to have built-in shelves in the bathrooms, and I really, really want to put in frosted glass between the rooms and the stairwell, because it's really nice to have it so open and airy and bright. But that's probably not going to happen ;)
Good morning. Time to declutter now, before this afternoon's vet appointment of insanity. We're taking two dogs and two cats, all at once, to get checked over for ringworm. And Remmy needs shots. And I need to pick up new medicine for Beanie because the mold guys sealed up the closet that the medicine was in, and we can't unseal it until the industrial hygienist comes back to check things out.

Thanks
I want to write a post, but I keep thinking I should write something really awesome and profound, and that just plain isn't happening this morning. My thoughts keep flying away halfway through, and my eyes are feeling heavy. It's been a week of storms and it's going to continue. I love it, but the rollercoaster air pressure takes its toll.
I want to write some sort of really awesome, informative post about living in a commune, about living a poly relationship, about raising a child. I want to write about how medicinal marijuana should be legal OR I should live in DC. I honestly don't understand why the painkiller that has the least likelihood of destroying my kidneys and liver is still illegal. That just makes no sense to me.
I want to write about dog training, and that we're taking two dogs and two cats to the vet on Friday, and the crafts I'm doing. I want to write about Elijah's development, about the changes in the household and the family, about food. But for some reason I just can't seem to do it.
Maybe if I set an alarm on my phone ;)
I really should make a crafts post. Maybe that's what I'll do next.
To everyone else -- thank you so much for posting. I love that we can make this a co-operative project. The more we write here, the more memories we've recorded and can look back on. Thank you all.
Daddy B - Thank you. You know why.
Daddy C - Thank you for sticking with us, thank you for being patient with me, thank you for all your help.
Brother Emo - Thank you for your love, and the joy you bring to my life. Thank you for talking, and thank you for being real.
Maddy - Thank you for sticking around. Thank you for helping me when I'm overwhelmed, and thank you for jumping right in and doing things and providing an example to me that it's possible to finish projects.
Jag - Thank you for the circus, and for our random talks and sharings of music. Thank you for being around.
Ti Ti Bug - Thank you for being Puerto Rican :D
Uncle Cat - Thank you for coke floats :)
Mama T - Thank you for being a role model. For not being one of those horrible mothers. For being a positive role model instead of a negative one for me.
And thank you all for loving Elijah. Thank you for contributing to the core of this household.

Oh hello world.
So far this morning, Elijah has:
Run up to me... or into me, depending on your perspective... licked me... then asked for a shirt.
Said, "It's /broken/!" while he was out of my sight... oh my. (It turned out to just be a cat toy. And I fixed it. Kinda.)
Tried to put a hat on as a shirt.
Waved and said hi... to his belly.
Said, "Cat in the Hat /everywhere/!"
Said, "Help eyes!" because he'd put applesauce in them.
And we've only been up for two hours.
Oh hai o.O
:)

Barometer of days.
E is lining his trains up side by side, rather than like a train. That usually means a particularly strong rigid-thinking day, where extra patience is needed.
The temperature is supposed to rise 30 degrees in the next few hours. My joints are already starting to hurt.
I don't like to talk about household-related fears here, but fears are there. I will get through them by focusing on E.
Good morning, world. I declare: Today will be a fun day.

6am
I like being awake at 6am, when no one else is awake and I can stare at my computer for a while. I have goals this month, and they involve writing more and decluttering more and loving more. If I woke up at 6am every day, I could potentially write a blog post, a Squidoo article, and relax with some tea.
In theory, I should be able to find that time during the day anyway. It's just a matter of letting myself not get overwhelmed by everything else in my world.
ChildFind is coming here on the 16th, to see how E is doing. I still want to install the therapy swing in his room. With the funeral and Jes and Emo moving in and most of us being pretty much out of it, I completely forgot half the things ChildFind wanted me to implement. But E's communication has improved anyway. And he's moved from a high chair to a booster seat!
I'm trying to figure out how to use one sensory issue against another: E uses his hands to put food on spoons or forks, and food ends up everywhere. Then he holds up his hands and says, "Wash hands."
He's having trouble with utensils, but doesn't want his hands to be messy. There's got to be a way to reconcile these two things ;)
The sun is coming up, and a freight train is rumbling by, shaking the house and whistling its good-morning. I'm going to move on to other morning tasks, and try to make this a good day.
Train out there... train on tracks!

Time to get ready to go to the ChildFind appointment. I have two dogs and a cat vying for my attention, and no desire to get out of bed ;)
Babysteps... first, warm pajama pants... and then... tea!

Early morning.
It's 7:43am and Elijah and I are awake and we've had breakfast and seen Daddyface off to work, complete with a belly full of breakfast (ham and swiss on a baguette) and plenty of good-morning Frangelico-flavoured coffee and a travel mug of coffee to go and a lunch for today and snacks for the week.
Now if I were reading this elsewhere, I'd probably be rolling my eyes and thinking 'good god stop bragging'.
But oh well. If I have to be turned into a morning person (I got up at 6:53am... around then used to be when I'd go to BED), I might as well make the most of it, and do what I live to do these days: Take care of my boys.
---
When Mama Kacy and I took the babyface to Gymboree on Friday, the teacher called, "Mommies and... and adults..." to parachute time. I was amused.
Elijah will move up to the next level class next month. I love going to Gymboree, I love seeing him with all the other kids. The younger ones remind me how far he's come, and the older ones remind me what I have to look forward to. It's pretty awesome.

Good morning, world. It's time to post.
Computers are amazing. First thing in the morning, after Elijah is cuddled and changed and has some toys to entertain him, I:
-Email Brian at his gmail account to talk to him while he's on the train (maybe).
-reply to email from my mom (usually)
-send email to a cell phone in Japan
-send Brian's work account an email to continue the discussion
-begin the day's discussion with Aunt Marcy (headtilt)
-use Google Reader to catch up on some blogs
-use Facebook to catch up on some friends (sort of)
-read random other things, such as fringe news or Lamebook.com
Then it's usually time for breakfast and Signing Time. We don't have a TV, so Signing Time runs on the computer.
And, To Do lists SUCK. Just as a note. They add to my feelings of failure when I look at them and see all the things I HAVEN'T done. And on days when I can barely move from the pain and I haven't even managed to feed myself or take a shower, that's pretty disheartening. So I try to keep an "Accomplishments" list for the day, instead. Things like "lunch" and "walking dogs" and "laundry" go there. If it's a good day, maybe "swept the floor" or "cleaned out turtle tank". Yesterday, cleaning Elijah's room and reorganizing his toys and putting away some of the recently-played-with and pulling out some of the not-recently-played-with was an accomplishment. So was showering and shaving (no new reviews, am currently VERY happy with Art of Shaving unscented cream, preshave, and aftershave). So it was a good day.
I wonder what today will bring :)
---
ShitMyDadSays is the best use of Twitter I have seen so far. (I assume there are some fundraising and news outlets that are doing much, much more important work, but I haven't seen those Twitter accounts. Show them to me, I'll amend my statement ;) )
---
So I've joined NaBloPoMo. I did entertain the thought of NaNoWriMo for about three seconds, especially since a friend was suggesting using the RPG Deliria as a basis, but... well there's just no way I'd make it. Maybe next year. But not this year.
But posting to the blog every day? Maybe I can do that.
Maybe.
We'll see.
(And I promise some pictures later. When I find my camera. And get Picasa working again.)

Random
We have 12 followers. That's pretty awesome. Hi guys!

Cheerios, Baby Sign, Google Reader, a warm blanket... my morning. Words? Maybe. Maybe not.
Elijah has some weird banananana flavoured puff thingers that showed up in my backpack, apparently while my backpack was in a friend's house and I was elsewhere. Those strange banananananana things are much appreciated, as the babyface is quite enjoying them this morning.
---
I'm glad I live in a world where drunk chess players are news. It's hilarious!

Morning, and Boys in Pink
Cheerios - check
Baby Sign DVD - check
Dogs have gone out (all four of them) - check
Whyyy did we get up at 7am? Especially when we were tossing and turning all night? My eyes hurt.
I should point out that despite recent evidence, Elijah and I usually sleep very well. We cosleep, as I'm sure I've mentioned before. He nurses once or twice during the night, and we don't fully wake up for that. I get 7-8 hours of (lightly interrupted) sleep a night. I could get more if I went to sleep when he did (and if I'm particularly exhausted, that's what I do). But lately, for some reason, I haven't been sleeping so well. He's been fine; it's me. And last night, he wasn't sleeping well either, whether from having caught my mild cold, or because I kept waking up, I don't know.
Either way, my eyes hurt.
---
Yardsales and thrift stres are amazing. This weekend's haul has gained us, for under $100: A 20 gallon long aquarium, for the turtle; 25 DVD movies (Charlotte's Web, Fifth Element, Stardust, The Day After Tomorrow, the Lord of the Rings movies, Donnie Brasco... lots! Full Metal Jacket! Apocalypse Now! Some of my favourites :) ); jeans and shirts for me; jeans and overalls for Elijah; some plush animals; some books; and Elijah's pink fedora. Amazing :D
---
I had other things I wanted to ramble about. What were they? Hmm.
Oh! Susan Boyle.
Although I don't know what to say about her. I wanted to tell the story about how I don't have a TV (rather, we have a TV, but it's purely for watching DVDs and playing video games--we don't have cable), but I do have YouTube, and my mom gave me a name. And I fell in love. And if my head hurt less, maybe I could tell that story. It involves the faces of friends of mine going from skeptical to OMG baffled. And it was beautiful.
Anyway, her debut album is out, and I need to remember to get it one of these days.
---
Elijah has gotten the sign for "Daddy" confused with just pointing at his head. Like his head is now called "Daddy" and "head". I'm not sure how to fix this :p
There are a couple of signs he's doing regularly that we haven't taught and I can't figure out what he's trying to say.
---
But you're really just here for the pictures, aren't you?

I was trying to get a shot of him sitting on the futon like a big boy, but he decided to climb around instead.

TURTLE!

CAT! (And HAT!)

The turtle now has what will become a nice terrarium :)

Tiny turtle :D

Hugging the giant ball :)

All clean. And drinking water.

I'm making up for the last of breastfeeding shots in this blog :p

Pirate!

It's 7am and we're awake.
What to do first? Put dye in my hair? Take baby and dogs for a walk? The dogs are looking at me like I'm insane, so perhaps they don't need a walk. But they sure will get Dramamine before we head out -.-
(Actually, Beanie will get Dramamine and Remmy will get Benadryl and Clavamox. But yeah.)
Rambling. Don't want to start work.
Elijah says, "Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba!!"

Morning, and time for rest.
It's nearly 9am and Elijah is still asleep--but I've been up for an hour. This is unusual, strange, and kind of nice.
I'm sitting here trying to put together a coherent article for Squidoo, and going through my email, and drinking tea, and watching Remmy chew on a piece of rawhide. What I really should be doing is waking Elijah up so we can go for our morning walk before the plumber is scheduled to be here, but, well, I just don't want to wake him up. Who would? He's so sweet and cuddly. Mostly I want to just curl back up with him and go back to sleep.
I may do that.

Ugh. Morning.
This is Mama trying not to obsess over stupid things: Missing an ingredient for dinner, potentially hosting someone... while in utter chaos.
This is Mama not being a morning person, and needing to eat before anyone talks to her in the mornings (but that didn't happen).
Erg.
I think I'll reinstate the old rule, slightly modified: Do not speak to Mama of anything important if she hasn't eaten.

Mornings
I dislike mornings. I am not a daylight kind of person.
Elijah, however, is.
So we're up about 4 hours earlier than I ever got up before becoming a responsible adult, and all I can think is, "When do we get to go back to sleep?"
Plans for the day, for Mama Coyote, Mama Kacy, and Babyface:
-talk to God (through a conduit)
-eat pizza
-seek a dreamcatcher
Will any of these happen? We'll see.
